Club Scrap Big Top Blog Hop

Welcome to the Big Top Blog Hop!
If you arrived here from Julie's blog you are in the right place.

I knew the minute I saw this kit that I needed to create a fun and circus like dress!

I had a vision of how the skirt needed to look but since the kit paper was too thick to create the look I wanted I decided to create a hybrid dress!

To create the skirt I used the Big Top Digital Kit. I printed out the blue harlequin pattern on to regular computer paper. This gave me the ability to really form the skirt.

I used the Dazzle stickers included in the Constellations Kit to add some bling to the skirt.

I used the solid pink paper in the Big Top kit to create the top and decorated it with the awesome green pearls included in the Deluxe kit.

The dress was not complete without a top hat!

Thanks for hoppin' by. Next stop on the hop is the amazing Kay!

Club Scrap October Artist Challenge

This month's Artist Team Challenge was to use the Club Scrap 2014 Quad Print Compilation to create cards, layouts or a paper craft project. I was so excited to participate this month! What I love most about the quad prints (other than the amazing prints) is that it is text weight paper. Text weight is a thinner, lighter weight paper and because of that it is perfect for...............

A PAPER DRESS!!!!!

I used the quad print from the Big Deal Kit.  I used a score board to score the paper every 1/4 inch and then folded it like a fan.

I used some dark teal paper from the Lakes Kit to  create some paper rosettes.

I used the beautiful red pearl paper from the Big Deal collection for the top and finished off the waist band with ribbon from the embellishment pack. That is what is so nice about the Club Scrap collections. You have everything you need to create amazing layouts, cards and other paper craft projects all in a cool pizza box. The only limit is your imagination!

Thanks for visiting!
Don't forget to check back next week for the Club Scrap Big Top blog hop.

Club Scrap Transformations Blog Hop

Welcome to the Transformations Blog Hop!

If you arrived here from Janet's Blog you are in the right place. If you have gotten lost you can return to the Club Scrap Blog and start from the beginning.

September brings the start of a new school year here in Upstate New York. My oldest son started his Senior year of High School this year. He has always had difficulty with the school environment due to having Asperger's. He easily gets overstimulated by the environment and needs lots of encouragement to make it through the school day. I decided to make him some daily inspiration cards for school this year. Just a daily pick me up with a positive message. The Club Scrap Transformations Kit was absolutely perfect for this project.

I started by selecting paper from my HPOP (Half Pound of Paper). Then I just had fun. I used the Unmounted Stamp sets to create backgrounds and add sentiments.
I also used the cutaparts from my Greetings to Go to add sayings to some of the cards.

For this card I created the background by using the leaf stamp from the Borders and Background Unmounted Rubber. I stamped them in purple and then used some red watercolor paint. I stamped the shell stamp and heated embossed it in black.

I send a new card to school each day!

Thanks so much for hopping by today!

Club Scrap Woven Strands Blog Hop

woven strands blog hop badge photo 0815bloghop_badge_zpsv4rkwswd.jpg

Welcome to the Woven Strands Blog Hop! If you arrived here from Marya's Blog you are in the right place. If you have gotten lost you can return to the Club Scrap Blog and start from the beginning.

The past month has been quite busy at my house as we prepared for my daughter's "Sweet 16" party. I spent all of my free time crafting for the "under the sea" themed party. One of the things I did for her party was to print over 200 square prints of Catie over the past 16 years and then I hung them from a fishing net. (Keep your eyes out for the party post).

After the party I am left with all of these awesome pictures through the years so I decided to start scrapping them for the hop!

This first picture is of my brother with Catie and her cousins. I LOVE the artwork of the Woven Strands collection and did not want to cover it up.

The more time I spend scrapping the more I am able to accept that I like simple, clean layouts.
I added a few embellishments from my stash and some  pieces from my Woven Strands HPOP. It is so nice to have smaller pieces of the kit cardstock to use and not have to cut up the larger sheets.

My second layout is a great picture of Catie and her dad.

I used the embellishment cutaparts at the top and bottom of the layout.
Have I told you how much I LOVE this art work?

Thanks for stopping by today! Next head on over to Lisa's Blog!

Today we are remembering Lily Chilvers a truly beautiful artist and soul taken from us too soon.
To honour Lily we are sharing projects we have made in her memory using the wonderful, whimsical and wacky art she shared with us all.

Blog Hop List

I made this tag a while ago after my brother Richard died. He wasn't just my brother, he was my friend and losing him was devastating. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about him.

But no matter how much I miss him, the reality is that time goes on and so must those of us left behind. That was the inspiration for this tag.

I used Lily's tree and grass stamps and to create the top of the tree I used the hair off of Steampunk Violet.

Lily was such a talented artist and a beautiful person. She will be greatly missed. But she will live on always in her Octopodes!

Thanks for stopping by. Please follow the links above to continue on the hop.

Club Scrap Blog Hop - Cantina

Welcome to the Club Scrap Cantina Blog Hop!

If you traveled here from Janet's blog, then you are following the hop!  If you've lost your way or just want to see all the links in one place, head over to the Club Scrap blog to see a list of all the talented bloggers participating today.

This month's Cantina Kit is such a bright and fun kit. I am totally in love! The beauty of these papers is that they are so beautiful on their own you don't need to add much. I used my Greetings to Go this month and made some cards. I just love having a set of cards with matching bases. It gives you a great starting point if you want to get creative and do your own thing (like I did) or it comes with all the cut aparts and embellishments you need to quickly make beautiful homemade cards. If you haven't played with the Greeting to Go set of cards you are missing out. Check them out here. So on to my cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Head on over to Annette's Blog next.
Don't forget to check out the whole Club Scrap cantina Collection here!

Wishing You a Wonderfully Creative Day!

Minions and Dinosaurs!

Welcome to the Club Scrap Artist Team July Challenge!

The challenge this month was to create a project inspired by the pictures of the minions!
When I original came up with the idea for this challenge it was because I am a HUGE minions fan and the new Minions Movie opened this month. I have a large collection of minions. They keep me company in my scrap room and on my desk at work!

What I did not realize was how well this month's Club Scrap Cantina kit complimented these images.
My original plan was to make a layout about my love of minions and my collection. That is so NOT what I wound up with. I wound up with a dinosaur "birthday cake".

My daughter's BFF turned 16 this month. Catie and I had discussed the ides of making a "cake" to hold her present. Well, time got away from us and of course the night before the big party we are making the "cake"

I tried to persuade Catie to let me create a Minions cake. I begged, showed her all the adorable minions in the store but to no avail. Catie held firm that the cake had to have DINOSAURS!
Her BFF loves dinosaurs so nothing else would do.

All the papers are from the July Club Scrap Cantina Kit. We covered each box differently. We used some foam dinosaur stickers and of course I had to add some bling!

The "cake topper" we constructed from plastic dinosaurs. Gotta love the dollar bins at Target. The large dinosaur (bright yellow like the Minions) actually growls and his eyes light up when you move his tail. I think it is a Fisher Price toy (not from the dollar bin).

I just LOVE the Catina kit! You should hop on over to Club Scrap and check out the whole Cantina Collection!

Wishing You a Wonderfully Creative Day!
