Since the January 2017 Color Me Happy kit was inspired by batik designs and artwork, this month's challenge was to create a project that features batik or faux batik techniques.
Karen, over at Club Scrap posted a tutorial earlier in the month explaining a faux batik technique. You can find it HERE.
I decided I wanted to create a 12x12 layout using the faux batik technique on my base page. I used the sun stamp from the January Color Me Happy Art Nouveau Unmounted Stamps. I stamped the imaged repeatedly with my Club Scrap Watermark Ink Pad. I then covered the images with clear embossing powder and heat set. I applied Club Scrap Hybrid Ink in Ash, Moss, Tangerine and Topez. I then ironed my page to remove the embossing powder. Here are the results....
This is one of the pictures from my daughters senior portraits. I just love everything about it. I chose inks that complimented the shades in the picture.
I used a cut out and these really cool metallic dot stickers both from the Color Me Happy Embellishment Pack included in the Deluxe kit. The silver hearts were from my stash.
Your next stop on the hop is Roni's Blog. You can return to the Club Scrap Blog HERE.
After you finish the hop don't forget to give the technique a try and link up your creation over at the Club Scrap Blog.
