The Artist Team Challenge this month was to use the new Club Scrap Idea Deck Vol. 5 and create either cards from the J of hearts card, or layouts from the 9 of clubs. I was so excited for this challenge because it would give me the opportunity to see how the same formula would look when executed by different artists.
If you have not heard of the Club Scrap Idea Deck, it is 52 cards each with either a card or layout sketch AND it includes the papers you need to complete the project and the cutting instructions to ensure you have all the correct pieces. How awesome is that!
I proudly own all 5 of the Club Scrap Idea Decks. I tend to use them more to get ideas and often follow the cutting directions but then stray from the actual project.
So the real challenge for me was to use the layout card and really follow the instructions.
This is the first layout I came up with.
I used the Picnic Lite Kit for this layout. I just LOVE the bright colors in this kit. I really stuck to the card when setting up this layout. I added the "Great Day" with plastic letters from my stash.
I added some washi tape to my paper ribbons so they stood out more from the background striped paper..
I was really pleased with how my layout turned out and it came together much quicker than starting from scratch on my own. I decided to keep going and create another layout with the same card but this time using a different kit.
For this I used the Big Deal Lite Kit. I decided to stray a little from the formula for this one. First I rotated both of the pages and I removed the paper ribbons.
For my title I used the Thickers from the Picnic Lite kit and colored them with Club Scrap Ruby Ink. I didn't add any embellishments yet as often I need take a break from my pages and go back later. But that is what is so wonderful about Club Scrap's Assembly Line method. I can get my pictures out of boxes and on to pages and then go back if I need to and add embellishments.

Here are both layouts next to each other. What amazed me is how different these layouts look next to each other. I don't think looking at them you would say it was the same sketch!
The Club Scrap Idea Decks are a MUST HAVE supply. They really can be individualized to the crafters needs and used in different ways. Whether you are looking for a quick, efficient way to get your pages done, some inspiration to get pages started, or just new ideas. So hurry over to Club Scrap and get yourself a set of these amazing cards. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Wishing You a Wonderfully Creative Day!

These pages are great. You show just how different two layout can be with the same formula.
It's interesting, the difference a few changes make. I like the washi tape - easy, but colorful.
