Club Scrap August Artist Team Challenge

It's that time of year again. I have to admit that I am one of those moms that HATES back to school time. I like having the kids home and I especially love the lack of homework, assignments and schedule. Summer is also my favorite season and back to school means the end of summer and the start to cold and snowy seasons.

There is one aspect of back to school that I look forward to and that is shopping for school supplies. I just love all the cute stationary and office supplies. So when this month's Club Scrap Artist Team Challenge was to create a project incorporating "Back to School" I knew exactly what I wanted to use for inspiration..............Post-it notes!

Post-it notes are one of my favorite office supplies. I use them all day at work, in my scrap room and carry them in my purse.  So I decided to create different ways to protect my precious post-it pads.

The first project is a travel holder for a post-it pad. I wanted to make holders for the kids for school. You can find numerous ideas for these on Pinterest. I knew I wanted mine to be sturdy and stand up to travel so I decided to use Club Scrap mat board for the covers.

All of the paper used is from Club Scrap assorted paper packs I picked up last year at Retreat. I made this one for my daughter for school. The quote and flowers are from the Club Scrap Girlfriends unmounted rubber.

The next one I made for my son. The stars stamp is from the Club Scrap American Flag collection and the quote is from the Catina collection.

I wanted the covers to be reusable so I added a pocket inside for the pad to slide into.

For my second project I wanted to create a holder for my scrap table. The first holder I created using mat board and I included a frame to add pictures or sayings.

Using Velcro squares I decided to make it interchangeable. I created 3inch x 3 inch mini art work and added Velcro to the back of each. Now I can change them out depending on my mood.

I was having so much fun I decided to make a second holder using Club Scrap book board so it would be extra sturdy for my work desk. I decided to add a small divider so I could also store paper clips with my post-its.

Thanks for stopping by today. Your next stop on the hop is Roni's Blog. If you have lost your way or would like to return to the Club Scrap blog click HERE. Don't forget to play along and share your creation via the linky party at Club Scrap.
