So I am taking a brief hiatus from my paper dresses. Although my plan is to complete, "2013 A Year of Club Scrap Dresses". I am not sure when it will happen or what my plan will then be for 2014 but that is all for another time.
I have been working on handmade Christmas gifts. This weekend I made two gifts for my niece. The first one is a retreat project so I can not share it yet. The second is this:
My niece is obsessed with keys. She loves anything with keys. Jewelry, clothes, you name it. So when I found the key in Hobby Lobby a few months ago I knew she would love it and I planned to decorate it for her for Christmas. How perfect it was when I got the Club Scrap Lock and Key kit.
I started by painting the key with black acrylic. Then covered it with the AMAZING teal print. I sanded the edges and inked them with Club Scrap India ink.
Then I added some Club Scrap ribbon and beads from my stash and the adorable metal keys from the kit.
I am so excited to have gotten a few Christmas gifts made but it going to be a challenge waiting so long to give them!
Your next stop on the hop is Anne over at http://crzymomstidbits.blogspot.com/
If you missed the start of the Club Scrap Hop head to CS Creates to start from the beginning!
Wishing you a wonderfully creative day!

What a fun and original project.
I might have to go to Hobby Lobby for this Key, perfect paper to go with it too, great present!
This is awesome Anne Marie! Don't you just love when Club Scrap provides you with the kit you just NEED for a particular project? I really like the inking of the edges on this key - gives it such a great look.
Lovely - she will be thrilled!!
Oh how fun to change up your projects, you are awesome at key wall hangings as well as great paper dresses!
Such a great project! Love the beads on they key....but I would have liked to see a dress too...hopefully you get an idea with the next kit.

Awesome key. I always forget about altering stuff. Way to go on getting ahead for Christmas!
I love that you are starting your Christmas presents early. I am so far behind, I'm not sure I'll ever catch up! I love that teal paper, too, and was a little sad that my project used up most of it. I think I need some more...
Charming!
