Catching Fire

Welcome to the Club Scrap Creates Fire and Ice Blog Hop!
If you arrived from Cathy's Blog then you are in the right place. Otherwise you can head to Club Scrap Creates to start from the beginning!

So I have to give credit for the idea for this dress to Marie Rampello. We scrap together at her house a lot and we almost always have Hunger Games playing on the TV. Marie told me that for my Fire and Ice dress I needed to make a fire dress like in the movie. This is what I came up with!
I tried something different with this dress. I tried softening the paper with water to get a better "fit". It worked but left seams and wrinkles in the front.
I tried to create the bottom ruffle from paper but being that Club Scrap paper is so heavy I couldn't get the shape I wanted. But, the ribbons in the kit this month were PERFECT for the trim!
I loosely stitched along the top of the ribbons and then pulled the thread to crete the ruffle. I then glued them along the bottom with a hot glue gun.
I made a ribbon flower and added a metal embellishment and added it on the side of the dress.

Your next stop on the hop is Debby's Blog. I hope you enjoy the Blog Hop and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing you a wonderfully creative day!
Anne Marie
