"Nice to See You" March Artist Challenge

The March Artist Team Challenge was to use the Club Scrap Retreat 2014 Nice to See You Kit.
The kit is really beautiful and awesome for mixed media projects.

I knew I wanted to make some tags with the papers, stamps and stencil. I have a number of tags started but then seemed to hit a creative wall! I TOTALLY lost my mojo. Desperate to get my creative juices flowing I turned to Pinterest where I found inspiration to create a tag book.

After taping the four tags together and coating both sides with white gesso, I added some Fired Brick Distress ink. To spread the ink and adhere it to the tags, I used matte medium.

Then I went to work decorating it. I started by randomly stamping the Nice to See You images with archival ink. I added strips of paper from the kit and sewed the striped ribbon from the embellishment pack down a seam. I also sewed a strip of burlap on the front.

I cut up a quote from the cutaparts in the embellishment pack and added it to one of the tags.

A while back on Pinterest I found the instructions for these awesome burlap flowers. They were just perfect for the cover!

My most favorite stamp from this collection is the eye stamp form the Greetings Unmounted.. I stamped it and then glued it to mat board to give it some dimension.

I tied each tag with the grey ribbon included in the kit, added pearls from my stash and added some baubles with a silver clip from Club Scrap.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you visit all of the Artist Team members. And don't forget to stop back at Club Scrap and  pick up your own Nice to See You Kit and share what you create!

Wishing You a Wonderfully Creative Day!

XOXO

Club Scrap 50s Kitchen Blog Hop

Welcome to the March Club Scrap 50s Kitchen Blog Hop. If you arrived here from Wendy's blog you are in the right place. If not you can return to the Club Scrap Blog and start from the beginning.

My inspiration for this months project  came from Pinterest when I was creating my 50s Kitchen mood board. I try monthly to create a Pinterest board focusing on the current Club Scrap kit. I have to say I LOVE this kit and found tons of exciting inspiration on Pinterest. Including this:

I was so excited when I found this party invitation made to look like an old 45 record. It reminded me of one of my prized possessions, my dad's old 45 collection.

So I decided to create a mini album in the size and likeness of a 45.

For the covers I cut 7 inch circles from cereal boxes and glued two together for both the front and back covers. I then covered them with the black paper from the kit. I used a 5 inch white circle in the center.

I was so excited to use the record insert that we received from the Club Scrap Cruisin' Kit back in August 2008! Another of my favorite kits!

I then cut 7 inch circles from the various papers in the kit. I used some black paper to create an accordion fold to bind the album together.

I am using this album for pictures from our annual family vacation to Pine Lake. It is a family resort in the Catskill Mountains. The pictures match the kit perfectly as going there is like stepping into a time warp. The décor is just like Grandma's house, complete with paneling on all the walls!

Club Scrap Artist Team February Challenge

I was so excited when I found out that the Club Scrap Stacked Book Box Project was to be the first Artist Team Challenge. This project turned into a true labor of love.

I knew I wanted to create a "cake" centerpiece for Valentine's Day. The idea is quite special to me as it was first introduced to me by my mom. At my bridal shower 19 years ago I walked in to find the most amazing "cake" created from paper Mache boxes painted white and trimmed with lace and silk flowers, perched on top was a Bride Barbie (total Barbie fan here). My mom had made it for me herself (she is quiet talented). She even made the Wedding dress for Barbie because at the time they did not have a bride Barbie available.

I wrapped all the boxes in the glossy white paper from the Club Scrap Picnic Collection. It is a good thing I am a Club Scrap Hoarder as this project does take quite a bit of paper. Luckily I had "a few" Picnic kits. Did I tell you, I LOVE THIS CLUB!

I used the Club Scrap Fire and Ice kit to line the boxes and create the heart on top. I used the red ribbon from the same kit to trim each box.

I knew from the beginning that I wanted to hand make paper flowers for my cake. I will admit though that I came very close to going out to buy silk! They were not difficult to make just very time consuming. I tried a number of different flower dies but decided on the Tim Holtz pine cone die. After creating the roses I used some fine glitter to give them a little sparkle.

My final touch was some randomly placed pearls on the ribbon. I can't wait to use it again next year!

Thanks for stopping by. You can head back to Club Scrap to continue on and check out what the rest of the Artist Team came up with. You will not be disappointed. Then you can stop HERE and  pick up one of the Stacked Book Box Projects for yourself. The possibilities are endless!

Paper Dress Return!

Thanks for joining us on the Club Scrap "London Calling" Blog Hop. If you would like to start from the beginning, click  HERE. If you arrived from Wendy's Blog you are on the right path.

It has been WAY to long since I created a dress for the Club Scrap Blog Hop. This dress was in no way what I had planned. I had sketched my idea a number of times this month but when I sat to recreate the sketch the dress took on a life of it's own and this is the end result.

I knew I wanted a full skirt with toile incorporated with the paper. I originally planned to use my  Cricut to cut petals from the gorgeous London Calling Kit. Instead I used the 12x12 blue print and cut a full page sized flower with my Cricut.

Then I used my trusty hot glue gun to glue the toile to the back of the flower pattern.

I  glued individual layers to my mannequin to create the skirt.

I used a layer facing the opposite way for the top. I added some bling to the waist of the skirt and for a necklace.

Thanks for stopping by. The next stop on the hop is Lisa over at Rockin Paper Scissors and Glue.
And don't forget to check back on Friday as the Club Scrap Artist Team will be revealing their first ever challenge project. I promise you won't want to miss it!

Wishing you a Wonderfully
Creative Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Thanks for joining us on the Club Scrap Valentine's Day Blog Hop!

I decided to share a few pages I made to celebrate the day. I tend to be a more private kind of person. I don't tend to talk about James and I much but as I try to get pictures out of boxes and on to pages I decided to document us. We have been married for over 18 years. I am truly blessed to be able to say that he is not only the love of my life but also my best friend. He is a wonderful husband and an amazing father. He takes such good care of all of us. I could not imagine life without him by my side!

This is one of my favorite pictures taken of us back in 2004. I used  Club Scrap's Study in Red kit. This was one of my favorite kits!

For the word "Love" I used the stencil from the  Club Scrap Graffiti kit and black embossing paste. I added the arrows from the same stencil using a white pen.

For the next 2 layout2 I used the new Love Ink collection from Club Scrap. This is such a beautiful mix of past kits. For the first layout I used the heart ribbon that came with the kit. I added the hearts and rub-on from my stash and the washi tape is from Club Scrap's Take Wing.

The last is a picture of me and my girl from back in 2005 (I will eventually get caught up). The picture was taken by the same photographer who took the pictures of James and I in the other layouts.

For the background I used the Honeycomb Stencil with a white pen. I filled in some of the space with the pen and then to add a little bling I filled in some with glitter from the Lotus Pond kit. The cherish strip and ribbon are also from the Love Ink collection.

Thanks for hopping with us today. I hope we have inspired you to create your own Love project.  If you missed any of the hop or you want to play along just head back to Club Scrap.

Wishing you a wonderfully creative day!

Club Scrap "Picnic" Blog Hop

Welcome to the Picnic Blog Hop!

If you have lost your way you can return to Club Scrap Creates blog to see the full list of all the talented bloggers participating today.

So every year my family goes away for a week to what I loving refer to as "camp". Think "Dirty Dancing" just not as glamourous and there is no Patrick Swazye! It is my favorite week of the year as I do not have to cook or make a bed and it is the one week of the year I can do nothing and not feel any guilt! Every year I bring my scrap stuff and have time for myself.
We are currently at "camp" and I have made this mini toilet paper roll album. This is an awesome project my friend Judy found and it is quick to put together. If you would like to make one you can find it here. I can tell you that my pictures do not do this project justice.

The Club Scrap Picnic Kit was the perfect collection for an album of camp pictures. I just LOVE this kit. It is so bright and happy and perfect for summer pictures!

This is the album from the front.
Inside you create a paper hing system and then the pages are flattened toilet paper rolls that are just covered with paper.

Since you use toilet paper rolls each page is a pocket that can hold a tag.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Your next stop on the hop is to Debby's Blog.
Wishing you a wonderfully creative day!

Club Scrap "Trees" Blog Hop

Welcome to the Trees Blog Hop.

If you arrived here from Cathy's blog you are in the right place. If you have lost your way you can return to Club Scrap Creates blog to see the full list of all the talented bloggers participating today.

We recently transitioned to new software at work. As I run a Pediatric Telemedicine program, without our software the program can not function. The transition has been challenging for my staff as they now need to log into three separate systems to complete the visits. They have been encountering different issues trying to complete visits and it is difficult to trouble shoot over the phone with them. I decided to create notebooks for them to log issues while out in the field.

I wanted it to be a binder so pages could be added and removed. I also wanted it to be compact and not take up a lot of space. I used mat board from Club Scrap to create the two covers and spine. I found the perfect size for the covers in pounds of mat board I had purchased from Club Scrap.

The Trees paper made a beautiful notebook. But I also made four more with different Club Scrap kits. One is from Science, two are Serenity and the last is Sonoma. I had so much fun making them I didn't want to stop.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Your next stop on the hop is to Anne's Blog.

Wishing you a wonderfully creative day!
